As a teacher, officially my summer started on June 13th.  I had big plans of sitting by the pool, watching the kids swim, keeping the house clean, baseball, and what is always on my mind.... trying to lose weight.  I failed at all of these, some not by any fault of mine.

This summer has been less than stellar for weather.  Days of sitting by the pool fell wayside to cool temperatures.  Instead of swimming, the kids continually were fighting.

Keeping the house clean, yeah right.  Last week I decided to have a garage sale next weekend, so the marathon cleaning of crap to sell has begun.  I started a chore chart last week or the week before and that has helped quite a bit, and the kids don't really fight me when I say to do their job.

Baseball...check.

Losing weight...epic fail.  Instead of losing, I started to put back what I lost already.  One huge reason for that was my lack of exercise.  I fell out of my routine.  No treadmill, nothing besides my occasional walk with friends. The last 2 weeks I have been back on track, kinda.  I found yoga, which I really liked.  Just need to get back to the class weekly.  2 weeks ago, I decided to do another 5k.  I started to retrain and I did it this weekend.  I was 3 minutes slower than when I did one in March, but I am proud that I did it.

Maybe when I go back to work next week, I will get back into a routine we desperately need.
